Konkret Comics is a 10x Award-Winning Publishing Company founded in 2019 by creator, writer, and publisher Derek “Lonzo Starr” Allen. Built on the mission “Where Representation Matters,” Konkret Comics is a collective of artists, writers, and creators dedicated to telling bold, original stories through a diverse lens. The company has grown from an independent comic book publisher into a developing entertainment and intellectual property company spanning comics, graphic novels, merchandise, film, animation, gaming, and other creative media. Konkret’s growing catalog includes Akolyte, Odina, Kandake, Pryme-8, Solar, Zuriel, Bassforce, and the expanding Konkret Dimensionz imprint.

Beyond publishing, Konkret Comics has built meaningful relationships with organizations and brands including Apple TV and Under Armour, while using storytelling as a vehicle for community engagement. Through the Liberty Knights community project, Konkret created a comic book that went on to sell an impressive 130,000 units, demonstrating the reach and impact of independent storytelling. Konkret has also partnered with K-Way High School on community-focused creative initiatives, reflecting the company’s commitment to empowering young people and bringing representation, creativity, and storytelling into the community. Today, Konkret Comics continues to develop creators, build original intellectual properties, and expand diverse stories across comics, entertainment, and beyond.
